Here it is Gina! This ultra classic red and gold fast tourer will be set up with long reach road brakes, full metal fenders, and a comfy saddle for cruising around town in style. These bikes keep the low maintenance of caliper brakes, have good stopping power, and have room for full fenders and bigger tires.

I enjoy building small lugged bikes because it tests my skills as a builder and designer. It takes a lot of extra time to manipulate the lugs to the correct angles. Hammer, bend, cut, file, file, file, sand.

Soooooo many braze-ons! Andy, you better use each one!

Yep, I love lugs. Even though this bike is fillet brazed, I gave it a nice lug look with some faux lugs I made from scratch.

The bike is indeed in half. It features S&S couplers for easy travel.

All that is left is some cleanup work and cable routing braze-ons.

Summer 2010

Yes Summer is here. It rained all day on the 2nd of July, but now thank god, the sun is shining, and life is great! I am back to my Saturday rides with Brian, fly fishing in the sun, and hanging out with friends in my front yard.

I still work in my shop, I promise!

Man! Lots of things are happening around the shop!

Gary’s farm frame is off to paints as well as Gina’s commuter. Andy’s expedition mountain bike is in the jig right now.

It’s summer for a few hours each day and then the rain comes, but I will take it. This summer is going to be filled with lots of mountain biking with the MOTORDOME crew, drinking in the woods, and fly fishing in short shorts! So if you are into that sort of thing email me. I have odd days off so that means having trails to myself!

Spring is in the air!

The sun comes out in Portland for a few days, everyone runs around town in short-shorts showing off their pasty legs, and the smell of fresh spandex and Barbeque fills the air. I can’t think of a more pleasant way of spending a day like today than hearing these tires hum while taking a fast corner on this bike. Soak it up Eric.

Greg’s road ride all built up

Greg’s bike features a very appropriate tough yet light weight tubing selection for a tall rider. The geometry offers a nice steering feel for long rides. Not too jittery, but not sluggish. It will also have a nice dampening effect to make those long miles on rough roads enjoyable ones.
Paired with a Campagnolo triple group, Nitto stem and seatpost, and beautiful lugs, this bike captures style of the past and the performance of the present.

Price increase March 1st

As of 3/1/10 base frameset cost is $1700. Their are many reasons for the price increase, but it is mainly due to higher cost of paint and materials. I have also known for a long time that I am unable to stop myself from doing what the frame tells me to do, which results in many extra hours of detailing a frame.
So get on the list now folks and save some cash!
