It’s been a crazy month. First traveling through Vietnam, then a 30-something hour flight back and scrambling to get bikes from customers for the Seattle Bike Expo. Finally feeling normal. I have not gone through my Vietnam pictures yet but promise to post a couple soon. It was an experience. I ate some dog. I [...]

Jonathan’s all weather road bike
Jonathan’s bike has standard reach brakes, full fenders, and 28′s for the rainy grimy season. The geometry and fit makes for a comfortable, supple, and confident ride. Hidden fender mounts make for a clean look, and its purple. Enough said.
My little corner of the world
It’s on 34th and Clinton in South East Portland, Oregon. I spend most of my days in a small shop designing frames, whittling on lugs, brazing joints, and peering out of a small window. This is where I am happiest, where I can have a “zen” moment and loose myself in nothing but the piece [...]

Paul and Caroline’s honeymoon touring bikes
Head turners. And the best part is for couples bikes, they don’t match! But they look magnificent side by side. Paul and Caroline don’t go out to dinner with the same puff-paint sweaters on, oh no my friend. My trusty mechanic and owner of Trucker Racks, Ben, taking Caroline’s bike out for a test ride [...]

Jonathan’s road frame ready for some sparkly purple paint!
A light and beautifully lugged frame. Made for year around riding. That means a riding position that keeps you comfortable for hours, room for full fenders and tires up to 32c, and hidden fender mounts (I hate fender bracket clutter).

Day after Christmas happenings
I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I did. I ate too much, had some Champagne, kicked it with family and friends. Lots going on around the shop. Erics 29er is cruising right along. The front triangle is brazed up. Now for some cleanup and reaming/facing. Jonathan’s road frame is all mocked up in the [...]

Randonee for sale
I made this Randonee frame because it just felt right. I really enjoy building on-off frames because it allows me to really “feel” the build and give the frame what it is calling for. And it is nice for at least one person because they can skip the wait list. This frameset has braze-ons for [...]
