Seat stay caps

Alright Hazel and John, I listened.

Below are some steps to make seat stay caps. Although they take a lot of work and time to make, I cant stand putting heavy cast seat stays ends on a light seat stay.

First I slot the seat stay to the drop out for a good fit, then shape the seat stay cap for a flat or curved cap.

After the seat stay is at the proper length and angle I braze on the cap and shape it per design. This stay cap is called a partial wrap around. I like it because of the large surface area for strength and some old school design. I then shape it around the lug and braze it in.

Enjoy.
