Cross bike finished, John’s bike coming along

Friday, November 21st, 2008

Finished up my cross bike. Turned out very light and handsome! I put fender, rear rack, and pump peg bosses on it just in case. Off to paint!

John’s bike is coming a long, just waiting on some tubing that I didn’t have in stock.

Gina, your next!

Seat stay caps

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Alright Hazel and John, I listened.

Below are some steps to make seat stay caps. Although they take a lot of work and time to make, I cant stand putting heavy cast seat stays ends on a light seat stay.

First I slot the seat stay to the drop out for a good fit, then shape the seat stay cap for a flat or curved cap.

After the seat stay is at the proper length and angle I braze on the cap and shape it per design. This stay cap is called a partial wrap around. I like it because of the large surface area for strength and some old school design. I then shape it around the lug and braze it in.

Enjoy.

Head Badge

Here is a shot off my head badges. Nice and clean. I like it.

I will bend and polish the badge for a nice fit and shine. Sorry for the bad picture
