New cross frame for me!

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

I decided to build a cross frame for myself. Here it is fresh out of the soaking tank. It’s going to be nice and light with big tire clearance and fancy rene singer lugs. This should eases the pain of winter.

Double Plane Fork

This is Griz’s track fork. This style of fork takes twice as long to make but ends up being a very classy and strong. It will be a beauty once it is all brazed.

Here a few shots of his frame.

Mary’s Loop, Tabagauche Trail

Sunday, September 14th, 2008

Had a great trip to Colorado. Road Mary’s loop near the Colorado National Monument, which is fast and fun.

The Tabagauche trail has some really technical rides. Lunch loop starts off with a 6 foot drop to test you for the rest of the trail (I skipped that one). After I got over the fear that every pointy rock was going to knock my teeth out, I had a lot of fun on the single track. Speed is your friend!

Colorado Vacation

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

I am going to be in Grand Junction, Colorado for a week. I don’t always have internet or phone access so be patient with me.

I managed to get a ride in today in Fruita, Colorado. I went out to the 18 road trails and road some fast and skinny single track. No roots or moss like I am used to, just cactus and rocks. I love riding in the desert, but seeing so much sky freaks me out a bit. Found a big horny toad and went back to town to gulp down some frothy beers. I am going to eat as much Mexican Food as humanly possible. Bring on the tacos!
