Camping at the Lewis River, Washington

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Went on a great first camping trip for the season. The river is moving faster than I have ever seen. These are the lower lewis river falls. Usually you can hang out all around them, but the water was so high from the run off we couldn’t get close. Sheri invented the official anti-bug device!

All that is left to do on Alana’s bike is to polish the water bottle bosses and rear dropout faces.

Floyd’s 2 coffee shop, race on Mississippi St., Alana’s frame

Had a very busy weekend!

Rolled down to check out the new Floyd’s coffee shop in Old Town, Portland. They are tearing down the remains of what used to be the Voodoo Lounge. It’s going to be a lot of work but a very nice spot.

Went over to Por Que No and inhaled some amazing carnitas tacos and margaritas, and enjoyed the crit race right on Mississippi. Looked like a hard race but stayed pretty clean. Its a blast seeing the hometown heros duke it out on the street

.

And worked on Alana’s bike. After shaping the seat lug to match the head lugs, I finished the rear drops, checked the alignment of the front triangle, and tacked in the chainstays. I also managed to get the fork blades brazed in. It’s getting their!

A good day in the shop

I went down stairs with a big cup of stumptown coffee this morning and didn’t come up until 10 pm. Just through the ipod on shuffle and went to town.

A sweet new toy arrived in the mail today along with some Henry James dropouts and a seat lug for Alana’s fast tourer. I carved up the lug to match the Bikini lugs on the bike, added a nice little touch at tghe bottom. Got the top tube brazed in and and aligned the bike. I also brazed in the dropouts and mocked up the fork in my fork jig. This thing is going to be sweet!

My new toy is a Henry James brake boss jig. This little masterpiece of design will save me loads of time positioning cantilever bosses and brake bridges.

Even if you don’t build bikes, Henry James has some good info.

This is what happens when loved ones are reunited

Welcome to my new website!

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

Hey everyone. My brother Ammon just built me this incredible website. I am working on filling in content, so for the meantime check out some of my pictures. I take pictures during the building process so my clients can see the process from start to finish. That means new photos all the time!

On another note, it was sunny today! I hope for the sake of your soul you road your bike and soaked up some vitimin D. I road up to Forest Park and putted around a bit. The mud made the downhill sections interesting.
